I just ordered a second train table for our grand twins because I was so happy with the first one. Very sturdy, nice looking and easy to put together. The first one is being used as a train table. This second one is going to be used in their play kitchen. Perfect for showing all the meals and desserts they have made with their play food. A regular table is no longer big enough. The table is sturdy and was easy to assemble. The play board is beautiful and the finish appears to be tough enough to withstand daily use. We placed our initial order a few weeks before Christmas. When it arrive on Dec 17th, the table top and play board had been damaged in shipping. Modern Tots was able to have replacement pieces shipped out the next day and we received them on Dec 22nd. This is a very sturdy and quite large table. We bought it after purchasing (and returning) a Kidkraft train table (which was highly disappointing). I was looking for a table that had one solid sturdy board in the center and was not split in two like other brands. After making myself sick from reading a ton of reviews regarding other brand's tables and trains, I decided to spend a little extra and splurge on this table. So happy we did! Was not disappointed at all! Per my husband, "Very good quality, easy to assemble, good fasteners." He was very pleased that this table was made of actual plywood, rather than pressed board like all the other brands out there. Good finish work on it. This is my third train table and I think I finally found the perfect table. When my daughter was young we bought a Parker Play Table from DucDuc furniture. It was pretty expensive, but very nice. It wasn't quite the right size though and it didn't have a natural lip to keep things on the table. It was also very heavy. When my son was born and got into trains, I decided to get him a different train table. This time I went with a cheap model from Kidkraft. It worked great for about a year, but it was flimsy and started to fall apart. I thought it was insane to get another table, but after finding this one, I was sold. It came and it's awesome. Just the right size, easy to put together, simple, but modern and sturdy. I expect we will keep this table past the train phase and use it for legos or whatever else in the years to come.
